Photography business · Poland · 2021–2026
In short: the photography services market in Poland is growing in money, not in the number of shoots. Industry turnover rose from PLN 1.4 to 2.4 billion (2019–2024), but prices went up 65% while real volume grew only about 12%. Money is moving away from "keepsake sessions" toward business: headshots, brand content, short video, model shoots for fashion and beauty. The family segment is shrinking together with the birth rate (−36% in six years). What a photographer should do: master studio lighting, deliver clean retouching and sell the result at a higher price. Those are the three skills business clients pay for in 2026.
This is the takeaway from our analysis of the Polish photography market for 2021–2026 (Eurostat, Statistics Poland, Google Trends, studio directories, with a separate look at Gdańsk, Gdynia and Sopot). We kept only what matters to a working photographer: where demand is heading, which services are growing, what to learn and where.
2019→2025, faster than inflation two years in a row. The market accepts a higher rate.
Hardly any more shoots. Those who raised their prices grew, not those who took more jobs.
In Google Trends since 2021. People search for "a photo session" as such less often.
They look for a studio, a place, a format. The client wants to control the result, not "just a photographer".
2019→2025 in Poland. Newborn and children's sessions are physically losing their client base.
The number has been flat since 2022. New ones come in, those without a niche leave.

Five years ago a photographer sold pictures. Today businesses buy results: a LinkedIn profile that brings clients, a product page that sells, a brand series that can be cut into posts and Reels. People pay less and less for a "keepsake" frame and more and more for a clear business result.
Three forces drive this shift:
| Service | Price benchmark in Poland, 2026 | Why it grows |
|---|---|---|
| Headshots, LinkedIn portraits | PLN 300–800 per person, corporate day PLN 1,500–5,000+ | Every expert and company needs a current image. Easy to scale with "shoot days". |
| Personal branding sessions for experts | PLN 600–1,500, premium PLN 1,500–3,000 | Personal brand has become a sales channel. A series is needed for the website, social media, speaking. |
| Beauty and fashion for brands, salons, designers | from PLN 1,000 per shoot day, often with model and stylist | Clothing and cosmetics brands and beauty salons constantly need content with a real model. |
| Short video, Reels added to photo | PLN 200–500 for a simple reel, subscription of 5 reels/month PLN 4,000+ | The only segment with a regular monthly payment. |
| Lifestyle and on-figure for e-commerce | per SKU or per day | Product "on a person" and in a scene stays with humans, packshots go to AI. |
| Weddings, photo + video | rate grows while the number of weddings falls | Fewer weddings, but a higher budget per wedding. A photo+video team wins. |

What is shrinking and what not to build your main income on: low-priced newborn and family sessions, white-background packshots, stock photography, "keepsake sessions" with no niche and no style.
All the growing segments share one thing: the client pays for a predictable, clean, "expensive-looking" frame. It is not about the camera. It comes down to three skills.
Headshots, beauty, fashion, brand shoots: all of it is studio or controlled light. A photographer who can reproduce a lighting scheme from a reference and deliver consistently gets corporate and brand budgets. The one who "catches the light" stays with family sessions.
Flash lighting course. Camera settings, sync, attachments and modifiers, 10+ working schemes for portrait, beauty and fashion. See the course program.
Brands and experts buy not "pictures" but a usable series. That requires the logic of a commercial shoot: idea, props, light, composition, directing the model. This is what most photographers who shoot "by feel" are missing.
Studio lighting workshop: model shoot with the Triplex table. A practical online workshop: model, motorcycle, Triplex table, paper backdrops, continuous light and the logic of a commercial frame from idea to result. More about the workshop.
A business client sees the difference between "edited" and "clean". Skin, volume, colour matched to the brand, delivery speed. AI is an ally here if you have an editing system, and an enemy if you do not.
Editing: colour and retouching. An individual online lesson in Capture One and Photoshop: colour correction, skin retouching, volume, live review of your own images. Book a lesson.
A niche, packages, subscriptions, working with corporate clients. This is what separates PLN 300 per session from PLN 800 for the same work. Start with the overview of courses and a free consultation.
Not sure where to start?
Free consultation. Karina will briefly ask about your goals and suggest which program gives results fastest: lighting, a model shoot or editing.
Yes, if you go into the commercial segment: headshots, brands, beauty and fashion, video. The market is growing in money and clients pay more for a predictable result. The mass private segment will only get more crowded.
AI is already taking packshots, stock images and simple retouching. A real person's portrait in controlled light, beauty and fashion with a model, and events stay with the photographer. AI is worth learning as an editing accelerator.
With studio lighting. It is the base of all the high-paying segments. The flash lighting course gives schemes for portrait, beauty and fashion. Then practice with a model at a workshop and build an editing system.
2026 benchmark: PLN 300–800 for a short session for one person, PLN 600–1,500 for a standard business session, PLN 1,500–5,000+ for a corporate project. The rate depends on lighting, style and portfolio.
Low-priced newborn and family sessions (births −36%), white-background packshots, stock photography, "keepsake sessions" without a niche.
